Spilker Company History

Solutions, Machinery And Rotary Tools – Our way since 1963

Originating from an engraving company, we have sharpened our focus from the very beginning also beyond our own product and worked passionately on a complete solution in which the satisfaction of our customers comes first.

Over the years, this has led to many innovations and expanded our areas of expertise, and today we are at home wherever cutting, printing and embossing are required in the automotive, pharmaceutical, tech or printing industries.

1963

Herbert Spilker founds the Spilker Gravieranstalt (engraving company)
1978

Production of the first rotary cutting tool
From the mid-1970s, rotary die-cutting tools are increasingly used in the label production. Herbert Spilker recognises this trend and the first rotary die cutter is produced.
1988

Start of the production of flexible dies
Another pathbreaking development in the label market was the invention of flexible dies for die-cutting applications. Also in this case Spilker starts manufacturing as one of the pioneers and continues to produce innovative series of flexible dies for its customers till today.
2003

Mechanical sharpening of rotary cutters
More and more industries are turning to rotary cutting processes. In order to be able to deliver maximum precision and reproducibility on a permanent basis, Spilker is one of the first companies to start the machine sharpening of rotary dies.
2006

New business area: Construction of rotary machines
As a consequence of successful products and high customer requirements, the construction of rotary converting machines was added to the portfolio as a further company division. Since then, we have been manufacturing our own individualisable machines and developing outstanding converting solutions together with our customers.
2020

Completion of the new production site for flexible dies
With the investment in the new location we have continued to improve the product quality also in the flexible die sector and produce according to the latest technical and ecological requirements.
